Phish on Sesame Street?

One of my favorite memories of watching Sesame Street as a kid (and adult) was the celebrity appearances. To date, the show has hosted such names as Beyoncé, Johnny Cash, Cher, The Dixie Chicks, Erykah Badu, Herbie Hancock, Wyclef Jean, Los Lobos, and Ray Charles, among the seemingly endless list of others.

Considering all members of the band are now fathers, I would love for this list to include Phish. I is for Improvisation, anyone? Maybe a discussion with Elmo that his fish "Dorothy" is spelled with an F, and the band...well you get the idea.

How do we get this to happen? I have no idea...but a good place to start would be a letter to Phish.

  1. As I previously mentioned, "I'm down with letter Z from the evening til the dawn. A thousand barefoot (or furry) muppets (or monsters) outside, dancing on my lawn." While in the 70's and 80's the show had artists play their actual music, the new trend seems to be Sesamized versions of their music. See YouTube for recent appearances by Feist and a very funny James Blunt lamenting the loss of his triangle.
