Your Trip is Gold

These will be the last of the Your Trip is Short posters that will be released.

I have taken 5 of these prints, and have added hand embellished gold highlights. They appear to be subtle on the print until the light hits them just right. Each one of, course, is slightly different. Printed on French Paper Construction Blue (Kraftone) 100 lb cover stock, the poster is a 4 color hand pulled screen print, with a 5th color added in metallic gold.  The paper measures 12.5 x 19 inches. Yellow, Red and Purple are three different tones of iridescent with yellow also being glow in the dark. The edition is limited to 5 signed and numbered prints.

You Trip Is Short Poster Process

It's been almost a year since I did the original graphics for this project. Since then, I have always wanted to do a screen printed version of this image. The shirts ended up being more popular than I could have dreamed. So, I gathered supplies and waited until I had time and now I am about ready to finish this project up.

One of the biggest challenges was affordable films. I finally had the local UPS Store order some 11 x 17 films for me to get this going.

Once I got everything together and the screens all burned, I got going with the white layer. I used a full undercoat except in some places where I wanted the yellow to fade out a bit.

I tore down the jig I had been using and build a much bigger one for the larger size of these posters.

I  had so much fun doing the glow in the dark for the Magnaball print that I wanted to try it again. This time, I was using the ink at almost full strength, as I wasn't trying to mix it into a different color. The glow was pretty amazing but I still can't manage a good picture.

This was a much larger run than I have been used to so by the end of the red layer I was starting to wear down a little bit. For red I used some translucent medium. Although difficult to photograph, it has a nice metallic sparkle to it.

The purple layer was a bit simpler than the previous colors, but it used right around the same amount of ink. For purple I used a pre-mixed metallic purple to get a slightly different sheen than the red.

Magna Auction for Mockingbird

I am extremely happy to announce that my Watkins Glen print has sold out. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who purchased one. It's always fantastic when your work is appreciated.

So, that being said, it's time to auction a print for the Mockingbird Foundation.

Your Trip is Short Shirts

 I heard you on the lot in Atlanta...more Your Trip shirts coming up! The print is a 3 color front, one color back on Navy.

I will be using Gildan Ultras long (style 2400) and short sleeves (style 2000),  and Ladies are Gildan junior fit (style 64000) , all printed on Navy. All styles are 100% preshrunk cotton,  In rare cases I will need to replace a Gildan with a Hanes if my warehouse is out of a particular size in Gildans. Check out my About page for more info on the style and sizes I use.
